The House magazine celebrates 40 years

The House magazine celebrated its 40th anniversary with a reception in the Locarno Suite at the Foreign Office.

Some of the biggest names from the last four decades of British politics joined House magazine staff past and present to toast the occasion.

The evening was kindly hosted by Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, who praised the magazine for its contribution to British political life and its strong independent stance, while Theresa May sent her congratulations on the landmark anniversary. “Forty years on, The House magazine remains a must-read for MPs and all those interested in the work of the House of Commons,” the Prime Minister wrote. "I always look forward to receiving my copy, and I hope that the magazine continues to go from strength to strength in the years ahead."

The occasion, kindly supported by Boeing, was also marked with the publication of a commemorative anniversary issue, including exclusive interviews with Sir John Major, Neil Kinnock and William Hague, plus some of the best archive interviews and articles from the magazine’s 40 years.
