Policy director hails conference success

This year’s Society of IT Management (Socitm) Annual Conference has been branded a ‘milestone event’ by a leading local government commentator.

Martin Ferguson, Socitm’s Director of Policy and Research, praised the conference, which attracted over 300 IT professionals from organisations connected with digital public services.

"This milestone event set out clearly the leadership role of Socitm, its members and partners in disrupting established siloed business models, in challenging outmoded working practices, in championing diversity, especially the role of women and apprentices; in standing u p for safe and ethical use of IT and data; and above all in achieving better outcomes from local public services," said Ferguson.

This year’s event took place on the 9th and 10th October at the King Power Stadium, Leicester, with 27 partners supporting the conference.
